My week on Instagram – an Introduction

instagram pictures of the last week | curlsnchard.comI often use Sundays to recap the week, to reflect on what has happened. Here, I want to use it to recap my week on Instagram. I love this platform and it is where “it all started” for me (it’s not even that long ago!). I want to do this as a weekly feature, where I show you guys in an overview what has happened on my account in this week, probably if I saw any new trends in general amongst the accounts that I’m following or just my musings about Instagram 😉 So here we go for the first week, starting on Sunday August 24 until Saturday the 30th.

Something that definitely happened this week on my account and also a lot of North American or European accounts: fall has arrived! Well, not really, but at least late summer, because apples are starting to show up and LOTS of fresh figs. I love figs, but mostly they are really expensive here. Right now, they are very cheap in Austria, and it seems like in a lot of other countries too 😉

In other news, I finally got around to trying quinoa again. Oh my gosh, I don’t know what I did wrong the last time I tried and disliked it, but it is soooo delicious. I use a very simple recipe that I will soon share with you guys. I know that quinoa is controversial to eat, because as we “affluent” health conscious people start to eat it more and more, it becomes more expensive and therefore harder to afford for those people who actually grow it (compare those articles: The New York Times, The Independent, The Guardian). I haven’t really made my mind up yet how to personally deal with this problem, but so far I make sure that I buy it at least organic, so that the people working with it don’t have to deal with harsh pesticides etc..

Buckwheat Crepes with Vegan Cashew Cream and fresh figs | curlsnchard.com

Something on a more happier note – my most popular picture this week was definitely the one with my buckwheat crepes with fresh figs and cashew creams. 400+ likes! Thank you guys – I do share your excitement and love for it. It was really delicious 😀 And I will share the recipe for this one with you soon as well.

For now, enjoy your Sunday!

    1. I haven’t found one here yet either, but I hope that there will soon be some available. Unfortunately, this doesn’t solve the rising cost for the people who live in the countries that farm quinoa – if they don’t grow it themselves, they will still not be able to afford it 🙁
