New York City calling.

Hello guys!

Now, I’ve been hinting that something very exciting is coming my way for quite a bit. Today, I want to tell you all what is actually going on. As you might be able to tell from the title, I’m going to New York City! This is not my first trip there, and it’s not just for a week of vacation – I’m going there for 3 full months.

My love for NYC goes deeper than the usual ‘tourist’ love for it (not that anything is wrong with that!). I spent my summer 2012 and 2013 ‘living’ in this wonderful city, and this year it’s going to be late fall and winter (I’m leaving in less than two weeks actually). You might wonder why I spend so much time there? Well, a very special to me person lives there (yes, my boyfriend πŸ˜‰ ), which is definitely a major reason for it (if not THE reason for it – I don’t think I would have spent such long periods of time there otherwise). Apart from that long distance sucks and I’m trying to spend as much time with him as possible, I simply love the energy that this city provides me with.

I need the energy, because I have to write a master thesis. I’ve put it off all summer long and now I figured that a change in scenery and a set deadline will hopefully do the trick. I work when he works, so I theoretically can work on it 40 hours a week – even though a few hours of those 40 might going towards work on my blog. Getting motivated to write a thesis that long as a master thesis is just…well, not that easy for me. But if it were that easy, everyone would have a master’s degree, right? πŸ˜‰

Not much will change for you guys here, as I will obviously have internet there as well. The thing that will change, are my photos. I’m not sure how the lighting will be in his apartment during wintertime and well, my background and props won’t be the same as well. This is something that I’m actually looking forward to, because it will be a new creative input for me.

I’m also getting really overly excited of the prospect of having Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods at my finger tips again! Finally I will be able to get my hands on decently priced pecan nuts again and will be able to try the yummy chai versions that everyone loves from TJ. So I might do a few food haul posts on here as well, because I personally love to see posts like that. Maybe also some ‘travel’ posts, or ‘New York through my eyes’ posts (and probably even videos?). I have spent quite a bit of time in this lovely city already, so I already have a huge amount of pictures and things to do for the summer time. Being there in late fall and winter will definitely bring new ideas and views. I’m really looking forward to it. πŸ™‚

What I hope, is that I can use my stay in NYC for a little bit of networking and meeting with fellow foodies and food bloggers as well. So if you liveΒ there or reasonably close, let me know! I would love to meet up. <3
