This week’s savory reads are very fall-ish and also quite onion heavy, as two of them feature onions quite prominently ๐Ÿ˜‰ Not everyone does, but I very much enjoy onions, so let’s jump right into the featured dishes. Oh, and like the last weeks, I found all of them through Pinterest!

First, look at this amazing quiche from Well Plated. Quiche is one of the dishes that I love to eat, but have never made myself. I hope that I will soon overcome the fear of messing it up and finally be able to make it myself. I love the flavor combination of sweet potato, goat cheese, caramelized onion and rosemary in her recipe. That’s also why it’s called theย Sweet Potato Goat Cheese Quiche with Caramelized Onions and Rosemary. I enjoy everything that includes rosemary, because it is one of my favorite herbs. My mum has a huge rosemary plant in her garden and I love sweeping my hand over the oily branches when walking by and inhaling deeply. So good!

Next up I came across French Onion Pizza from The Little Epicureanย – I have never thought about putting caramelized onions on pizza! I love to put fresh red onions on it, but putting caramelized ones on the pizza is new to me. I don’t have cast iron pans and I might not have the 4 hours to caramelize the onions like Maryanne did, but it’s such a good idea, I’ll try to replicate it in a quicker way and hope that it turns out delicious as well.

And last but not least there is a delicious fall salad from Food, Pleasure, and Health. Her Butternut Squash, Apple and Walnut saladย combines some of my favorite fall flavors and also a wonderful array of textures – the crispy apple, the soft roasted butternut squash, the arugula and the nuts make this sound so mouthwatering that I’m really sad I’m not having this for lunch today!
