Hello guys! As you might have noticed, I skipped last week’s My Week on Instagram post – I simply hadn’t posted enough to justify it. I didn’t have internet for the most part for my first week here in New York, so I wasn’t able to upload photos of my breakfast creations either. On top of that, a lot of those first mornings breakfasts were not exactly “show-worthy”. I finally have started to get back into a groove here, and I have posted regularly again this week. This post ist actually a combined one, with the rare picture from the first week as well.
As you can tell, my pictures changed a lot! I don’t have my usual bowls here, and clearly, my setting is different too. I’m very happy though with the light I get at my current spot, lots of NYC apartments don’t get the amount of natural light through their windows in the morning.
I have also kept the food itself very simple so far – I have gotten some delicious pears though and some frozen mixed berries to put onto my oats or my millet. Finding decently priced buckwheat was difficult at first! But, I finally came across it in form of the bulk bins of the Whole Foods Market at Union Square. I only got me a small bag full so far, in order to test the quality and freshness of it. Buckwheat is on of those dry food items that don’t last as long as others. But, I’m pleasantly surprised – the quality is fine so far, although I had to pick out a few shells from the buckwheat.
